Week 10

Wow.  Can’t believe it’s the last week of term 1 already! It’s been a busy term with our assembly, excursion and Easter Fair as well as LOTS of learning, studying and testing!  You have all bonded as a class really well and we know you will look after each other and encourage each other’s endeavours for the rest of 2012.  Mrs Nairn and I are very pleased with your work efforts.  It is a BIG step up from middle school to senior school and we encourage independent learning at all times!  We hope you all have a happy and safe Easter break.  We return next term the day after Anzac Day.  The Year 7′s will be sitting the NAPLAN National Testing in Week 4. We have swimming lessons for the last 2 weeks of Term 2, as well as our winter sports program to name a few events as well as LOTS more learning!!   ENJOY! Mrs Nairn and Mrs Franklin

Weeks 8 and 9

What a busy 2 weeks we have had!  Last Week was our excursion to the Western Australian Museum and we’re sure that everyone enjoyed it and learned a great deal of history, not only on Ancient Egypt, but also on how to piece together what may have happened in the past from secondary sources. The Museum itself has such a huge range of wonderful and fascinating artefacts and history.  TA 17 were all a credit to us teachers with your great manners. Thankyou for making it any enjoyable day for us…..I wonder where the next excursion will be?

Today we had the Easter Fair.  Thank you again for contributing with your Mars Bar and Easter Eggs, and by taking a turn on our ‘stalls’. Hopefully we all enjoyed cooking and a big thankyou to Mrs Whitehouse and Mrs Gray for helping. Our Bunny Bowl is always a hit with the little ones as everyone wins a prize!  We were happy with the sales of our tatoos, Mars Bar nests and 100′s Lucky Prize.  Hopefully TA17 helped to raise LOTS of money, and hopefully too, you all enjoyed yourself (and didn’t eat too much chocolate!!) Photos of both these events will follow shortly.

Weeks 1 – 8

Welcome to Ta17′s Sensational Seventeens Blog.  Mrs Nairn and I apologise for being so late in getting it started but we’ve had computer problems!  Anyway we’re hopefully up and running now!  TA17 have bonded very nicely as a class and have been working VERY hard in Maths, English, Science, Health, Art and EVERYTHING EGYPTIAN and ARCHAEOLOGICAL!! (You should all know how to spell archaeology by NOW!! )  This week we tried out our new laptop computers for the first time and hopefully next time they’ll all be quicker to log in and get started on some serious work!  We have our excursion to look forward to on Thursday and Easter Fair next week.  Congratulations to all our award winners so far. Mrs Franklin and Mrs Nairn
